Here is my latest acquisition. As I have already posted, I am planning to go mule deer hunting near Yellowstone in about 3 weeks. This will give me a little peace of mind since I will be walking around with an unloaded XP-100. OK, so it was just an excuse to buy another gun.

Also, (another excuse) is that I have a 10" Bullberry Contender in .45 Colt that I'm putting together right now. I plan to scope it with a 4X Leupold to hunt deer with around home this year. I thought that I might carry both the 4" Redhawk and the scoped 10" Contender to my treestand if I can find a load that shoots accurately in both guns. Then my strategy would be to use the revolver for close shots during good daylight and use the Contender for longer shots or those in poor light.

I plan to try out the three loads in the photo today if possible; a 310 WLNGC, a 300 gr Sierra, and a 260 gr Speer.

That's a nice looking rig! It should serve well as a sense of comfort in bear country. Good luck on your up coming hunt.

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

Be sure you don't shoot your mule deer with your 45 colt, it's not legal in Wyoming.

Wyozx, where did you read the 45 colt is not legal? Here is what the regulations say, right out of the Wyoming hunting book.
You can use the .41, .44, or 45 for Big or Trophy game.
