So I got some blackhorn 209 and sat down this weekend to check sight the barrel. six inches high and six inches wide at 25yards. when I got it on the paper it shot "pretty good, but after 10 rounds I got a hang fire, then an okay shot then a refusal. the hang fire was a klik boom- not something I would want to deal with in the field, then the refusal took a second primer to get it to fire. my load was 85 grains of blackhorn pushing a 240 jhp, and it looked like unburned residue was left in the barrel. next session, out comes the crony and we will see what we got.

HH I don't have alot of experience with the 209 but my old inline would need at least the nipple and breech plug cleaned after that many shots.

yeh, I'm thinkin' that it might be wise to carry a spare breech plug, poppin in the spare might be more prudent than trying to do a field cleaning, the bore really wasn't fouled at all.
