I posted back in June about an issue that I had with a new Taurus 22 revolver. I had purchased it for a little family gathering for the youngsters to shoot. It made it through about 100 - 150 rounds & then broke.
It was sent back to Taurus. I received it back a couple of days ago. The service order states "Problems Found" --- 1. Shaving lead --- Forcing cone undersize. 2. Missing part -- Yoke screw plunger spring. 3. Missing part -- Yoke screw plunger.
My conclusions --- 1. a little over 90 days to fix it did not bother me, because in the meantime I bought another single six. 2. I would not recommend this revolver to anyone. 3. I will not likely buy another Taurus. (I bought this one because it was the only 22 revolver available in our small town the day that I decided to purchase one.)

I know what you mean. One bad experience with a company can ruin you relationship with that company. I feel the same way about Thompson Center after Smith & Wesson bought them. Took three months for TC to return an encore muzzle loader barrel I had sent in for grouping issues. Everytime I call to find out the barrels status, I was told that all they knew is that they received the barrel, and the next time he took a walk down to the repair center he would give me an update. Got the update when I received the barrel back in the mail!!!! They will no longer get my business. I'll by my barrel's from a custom shop from now on if I buy one, and they won't get another dollar from me...

Taurus has a long record of poor quality control and poor customer service.

Yep, just reinforced what we already knew.
Rod, too.

Did they fix the problem? I have heard that their "fix" doesn't always mean it IS fixed.

Mike,
It appears functional. I have not fired it. Thinking about trading it if I can find something to trade for.

wtroper,
I can relate to your problem and frustration. When Taurus came out with their little 5-shot, 4" .44spec, I bought one. Shot it a whole bunch and it worked fine for what it was. About 3yrs ago the transfer bar's 'leg' that attaches to the trigger and activates the transfer bar broke off. I called, e-mailed, wrote letters trying to get them to send me a new one to replace the old, broken one. I'm still waiting.

Surprised you got it back, and in around 90 days,it's a miracle. I had a 480 Raging bull and due to my experience with their service department and others experiences I will never own another Taurus.

wt..,
Had a Tracker 357 with rough chambers, shot great, brass was tough to eject. Guess they didn't use a finish reamer. Sent it back, received a notice of their receipt, stating repairs would be approx. 6 weeks. The gun arrived 10 days after the notice, cylinder replaced, chambers smooth, shoots like crazy. I understand that others have had poor experience; however, my experience has been very satisfactory.

I have a raging bull 454 in high polished stainless. Shoots fine, I recently bought a scope mount to use with heavy 45 colt and leupold 2x. Seems fine.

I ordered a scop mount from MidwayUSA and the part number on the package was right but Taurus had put the wrong mount in the package. I called Taurus to verify the part number and model of my gun (a 444) and they admitted they probably packaged it wrong. They said to sent it to them and they would exchange it, and the turn around would be 7-10 days. I will see what happens with it. Today I went shooting and was consistently hitting around the bullseye at 60 yards in 5-6" groups so I will just cut down the range I shoot if I cannot get my Ultradot mounted before deer opener on 9 NOV.
