How much do y'all carry? And how do you carry it? I have one of those plastic ammo wallets from mtm. It holds 18 rounds of 44. 18 rds plus the 6 in my gun seems a lil much, and it gets heavy toting it around. Just curious how much extra everyone else carries, and how.

I will normally have an extra cylinder's worth on my belt as well as a loaded cylinder. The only time you will need the extra ammo is when you don't have it. Mark my word!

I have a folding nylon pouch with elastic shell holders from Allen. It's cheap, but it serves the purpose of keeping the rounds quiet in my pocket. It holds 14 rounds.

I am a mix of the others, I usually carry an Uncle Mike's "Folding Cartridge Carriers" that holds ten rounds for what ever TC I am carrying. I also really like the MTM 18 Round Wallet carrier for my revolvers.

I have a belt slide for my 45 colt which holds a dozen. I carry speed strips for my single shots which hold 5 to 6 rounds. We are never more than a few miles from camp so a refresh is not far away. If I were going to a remote location it would be another story.
Rod, too.

If I were hunting out west, or Alaska, I'd tote plenty of extra. However, I walk to my deer stand, or still hunt. I dont use a truck or 4 wheeler except for game retrieval. 18 rds of 44 is heavier than I thought, when added to the rest of the junk I carry. I cant bring myself to go to the woods without any extra ammo, but 18 seemed excessive. S4s4u, are those speed strips pretty good? I saw them online, but they got some bad reviews as far as quality, and ease of use.

For my revolvers I carry enough extra to fill my cylinder. Most of my hunting holsters are Ringlers 3 in 1's, they have a built in ammo pouch that carries 6 rounds.
For my encore/contender I carry two extra rounds in a wrist strap.
I use the same strap for my Striker but I already have 2 to 3 in the gun.

I carry 10 extra rounds (Big bore handguns) in the loops attached to my Pistol Packageing Holster....
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

When in my stand I usually carry at least a box (50 ) for the revolver, maybe 20rds for single shot and ill have 50 for my 10mm. Always over kill but I'd hate to be stuck in a whitetail attack and run out!haha

with my T/C's I'll carry a 6rd wrist band, my revolvers I either carry a 12rd belt carried nylon folding "ammo wallet" or I carry leather belt slides that carry between 10 and 20 rds. That of course is for day hunts. I don't hunt much anymore where I can't get back to camp every night and alot of my hunts are two or three hour walks from the truck so I do keep extra ammo in the rig but if I were going backcountry again I'd probably carry the plastic ammo wallets you carry in your pocket. I have one for my 44spcl I carry when snake hunting.

Depends on the situation but generally I'll carry about 6 extras for each gun unless they are the same caliber. Having reloads readily accessible and always in the same place is perhaps more important than how many you carry.

I carry a box of twenty rounds for the single shots or three loaded speed loaders for the revolvers in my right jacket pocket. This makes loading in the dark easy.

An extra cylinder full (at least) on a cartridge slide or bullet loops on the shoulder rig like KRal.
Single shots - usually 5 extras in a pocket or stashed on my bandolier rig(s).

For my Contenders, I carry five or six extra rounds when deer hunting. Usually have the remainder of a 20 round box in the Jeep or on the 4 Wheeler.

Usually I carry 8 rounds for the single shots and, 2 extra cylinders for the revolvers. In a remote location I will double that.
