Welcome, I'm just bout 45 mins from you I live just the other side of the Blue Ridge Mt. I shot a 15" .260 Rem Encore and love it. My go to bullet is the 120gr. TTSX from Barnes, I've taken game out to 425 yds with one shot with this set-up. I know a lot of people dont like the Barnes, but the hydroshock they give an animal is Awesome you can see it thru the scope on some shots. I have shot the 120 Nosler BT and I like those too, my other favorite is a 130 berger it does a great job on Deer at long range and thats what the .260 Rem is for. I would stay away from the A-max from Hornady. Just my Opinion.
