In the UK we can still have pistols but they must have an overall lenght of over 600mm which just under 24" and a minmum barrel lenght of 12".
The problem is three fold.
1) Because they are to come by I do not know which calibre to apply for from the local police so my firearms dealer has to purchase and import one and then I apply for authorisation to purchase that pistol.
2)I need to find an FFL who is will to export one to the UK.

They are still shooting long range pistol at bisley ranges and long barreled revolvers on other ranges. These firearms classed as (long barrel section 1 pistols )

3)Any pistol must been manufactured to meet those overall lenght requirements or it remains in section 5 which is the prohibed / banned classification so any pistol rebarreled to meet those regulations would be still banned.
