I finally got the .357 Maximum barrel I've been eyeing for awhile. When I first began an interest in this chambering you could get loaded ammo from the Dan Wesson website, but no longer. I do not currently reload as all the other chamberings I have in the Contender are comercially available. I will be reloading in the near future as I am finding an interest in some wildcats but for now I just want to feel the power of this baby and get a few for hunting. Is there anywhere or anyone who can help? The best thing is that I can practice with easily obtainalble .357 Mag which is a big reason why I got it. Thanks, Rod.

Thanks for the heads up. I checked Reeds out and I don't think that 8 bucks a box for 20 rounds is toooooo bad. I wish they would load the Hornady 180 SSP bullet though. It'll do for now until I get the stuff to roll my own.

$8 for a box of 20 is a good price for max ammo. If I remember right when I bought Rem factory max ammo it was $12 or $13 a box in the early 90's.
Reloading your own is the way to go. Midway still has Rem Max brass for around $13 a hundred. I like the Rem bulk bullets for practice. Last I got were the 158gr 500 count box. Figuring in shipping I had about $.11 a piece into them.

I have some Max ammo that I have loaded that I can sell you if you want. I'm on crutches right now and haven't looked at my ammo stash for several weeks, but I could probably put together 40 rounds easy enough to send to you.
If you are interested, let me know and we can agree on a price.
Just an offer, not a solicitaion. The max is pretty cool. What barrel did you get? Mines an 18" carbine barrel, full bull. Can't even tell it went off when you pull the trigger. It has a Leupold European 30 1.5-4 scope on it and it really is a pretty cool package.
Oh yeah, the ammo I have isn't hot at all, I use it for plinking. I haven't tried to sort out a full power hunting load yet for this round.
6.5x55 Swede.....and that's all I nede. Hard-luck huntin' in Louisiana. Chris

Thanks for the offer, I really appreciate it. I am going to try this other stuff and see how it goes. I have a 10" Max. I like the way the short tubes handle, I've had some 15's and 16's and keep going back to the 10's. Going to check out those dies now. Thanks everyone, Rod.

180g SSP? No problem, drop me an e-mail and I'd be happy to get it loaded up for you.

Sent you an e-mail before checking in here this morning. Imagine my surprize to see your post here. I also had some other questions contained there-in. Thanks, Rod.
