Mike, B/B told me their .45-70 ammo had tested well in any break open rifle, including the NEF Handi-Rifle. Their 430 gr. load @ 1925, or a 500 gr. FMJ-FN @ 1650 will be more than enough for a large nasty at spitting distance,(which is why I ordered one!). Chamber pressures are kept low the same way British Nitro Express rounds were, large cases. Besides, this gun will also be chambered in .30-06, with pressures in the 50,000 range. Way higher than any .45-70 round loaded by modern man.
