I got this buck with my 15 inch 7mm08 TC Encore topped with a Bushnell 2x6 XLT scope using 140 grain NBTs. He came past my stand at about 30 yards chasing a doe. The first shot hit a little far back but when he stopped at around 50 yards I made the second one count. At the shot he went down like a bag of hammers! I'm very pleased with the performance of all the components combined.

Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Aside from the primal "more power" feeling given by the .460, the 7-08 is my favorite barrel for the Encore.
Great deer. It'll lay 'em down.
Lead, push or get the heck out of the way!

It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

Thanks guys. I've noticed a lot of guys using the 7mm08. Dvan, I am planning on doing a skull mount. He's 18 inches wide. The first day of gun season this year I got rained out so I went shopping with the wife. On the way I stopped at a local archery shop and found a 15 inch SS 7mm08 Encore barrel and picked it up for my brother. Unfortunately he didn't get a chance to connect with it this year.
