I am going to have to vote for the .480. If you need it to act like a .454 You can launch 370grs at 1500+ from a 7.5" barrel. Be advised with higher speeds and ejecta comes the recoil. The .480 in a 7.5" gun matched up with a 5.5" .475 nearly to the FPS. The .480 with a 412gr cast is a beast without the sharp recoil of the .454.

I have never owned a .480 but would like to pick one up eventually. I have three .454s and everything I have ever shot with them died quick. I've been very happy with that rounds performance.

Run the 454 to the same velocity and its not a beast in the recoil. I run ceb solids at 1600 fps and its a pussycat
