Ever since I started handgun hunting, I've more often than not had two guns on my person at any given time. Usually, it was my Model 460 and my 270 or 375 rifle. Ever since putting together the Encore, I've carried the 243 barrel as my main gun backed up by my 460 for coyote hunting. This year I'll have my 300 barreled Encore on my shoulder and the 460 on my hip.
Anyone else take multiple weapons afield?

I often carry two revolvers, one with a scope or red dot and the other with iron sights. Sometimes three counting my concealed carry snub nose 357.

I always have my Bisley 45 on my belt. I will occasionally sling my Contender over my shoulder when I am going to hunt some more open areas. So, I don't carry more than one all the time, but do once in a while.
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Yes. I carry an iron sight revolver in a cross draw belt holster and a scoped Contender on a sling or scoped revolver in a chest holster.

The past several years I have only carried my custom .475 Linebaugh revolver with red dot sight as I have killed my share of big game with single shots and wish to add to my revolver kills.
I have really enjoyed it and I cannot say that I have had to pass up a shot, maybe because I hunt differently with a revolver; more like I would bow hunt.
But that's just me.

I always carry a weapon on my hip in addition to my primary gun. I will usually carry a Contender, Encore, or Striker; and have a revolver or semi-auto in a belt holster topped with a red dot or open sights.

Do knives count? Maybe for those close in encounters? If so, yes I never have less than 3 other weapons with me.

No matter what I'm hunting with, I always have a belt gun. Sometimes I'm hunting with a rifle (still addicted to traditional blackpowder guns), sometimes it's a scoped handgun. Sometimes I'm hunting with the belt gun.

Just got done bow hunting elk for a week, and had my 500JRH on my side. There are bears on our place, and I always carry something for them. If the 500 hadn't been on my hip, it would have been my Springfield TRP 1911. It goes almost everywhere with me.

Life, liberty, pursuit of happiness: semiautomatic pistol ,45 ACP or 10mm, revolver, usually 8 shot .357 Mag, militia semiautomatic rifle in .308 or .223, then hunting handgun, rifle or bow. Citizen first!

You should NEVER go anywhere without a knife! +1 Amen. maybe it how i live, i just do see how someone can get through a day without using a pocket knife. as for more than one gun... no one at a time is enough for me.

Only One so far. I have hunted deer with my 480 SRH the last few years. I also have Contenders, and need to hunt with my 35 Bullberry Super 14 once in a while. Last year on the last day of the 2014 deer season I took the wifes Super 14 in 6.5 X 30 JDJ to the stand, and bagged my buck with a 129 Hornady Spiral Point. Where I hunt it is unlikely I will see a deer out of range of my 480 SRH, so why pack a second gun? I guess an answer might be to take a closer in shot with my 45 Colt Bisley with open sights.

I just think a back-up firearm with iron sights is a good idea especially if your primary is sporting some sort of optic that can get damaged. JMHO.

I agree that carrying an iron sight backup for any primary gun with optics is a good idea. It may very well save a hunt.

Of course.....I thought everyone did.

Yes my hunting gun and my CCW.
I carry one of two for CCW Springfield XDS 45 ACP stoked with 230 grain Ranger HST or a commander size Custome Reeder 1911 10mm stoked with factory Hornady XTP 180 grain. Once in awhile I will carry my 1911 Srpingfiled Operator 45 ACP
The hunting guns are well too darn many to list.
