Thanks for posting Darrell! Nothing special about this buck except I took him at 10,682 feet elevation -- must have thought he was a sheep! 279 yards with an Encore in .308 Win.

Nice shootin', and nice lookin' speedgoat.
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Congrats, Mark! That's a beautiful buck. Great shot with the Encore.

Unit 110 -- out of Meeteetse, up the Greybull River. Beautiful country. Saw lots of elk, moose, bighorn sheep, turkey, ect. Great place to spend a few days. Antelope numbers are down compared to years past.

Great job Mark & with an all around caliber thats hard to beat. I've seen Antelope in the mountains outside of Big Piney that thought they were Mountain Goats they were so high up. Same way in the area around Mt. Borah here in Idaho.

Congratulations to you and Karen, Mark. I had no idea you would find pronghorn at that elevation.

Thanks guys! Ken, Our friends we were hunting with are dyed-in-the-wool sheep hunters. On previous sheep hunts, they found a few antelope up where they normally glass for bighorns. Last year a friend of ours killed one at 10,727 -- while hunting with them. I was trying to beat his record but fell short. Kinda odd -- we weren't really looking for a big buck -- just one over 10,727! Coincidentally, we located some nice rams in the spotting scope not far from where I shot the antelope -- at around 13,000 feet. Neat place for sure.

Congrats on your antelope Mark.
I assume you were up on Phelps Mtn? If so I'm surprised you didn't mention seeing any grizzlies. My son was up there with a group that hiked to the top of Franc's Peck and saw a boat load of grizzlies. That was back in Aug when the bears were in there eating moths
Next time your in town give me a holler and I'll buy you a cup of coffee or a beer

I'm envious of you Mark, great job! Any Antelope with a handgun is a true challenge but, this one sure stands out. Congratulations Steve
