Other than the 139gr Hornady BTSP...I'm looking for a few other 139/140gr 7mm offerings from Sierra, Nosler, etc. Six or eight of each would be great. I'll pay for shipping or have bullets to trade if you are looking for something to try.
I have a 7mm bore gun that will not shoot less than 1.5" at 100yds and want to try a few other bullets to see of that is the problem. Thanks.
Dan

Jimmylee, what did you send. I have many brands and weights of the 7mm bullets. Maybe I can send some you didn't have.

Dan, if it's the XP you should probably pack it up and send it to me. Probably to close to the coast and should be shot in the Mid West and used to see if it worthy. Let me know if you need more bullets other than what Jimmylee sent. Mike

Sorry...but it's not the XP! A couple weeks ago it put down a pair of four shot groups at 400yds that were under an inch!!
I'm still battling with the Striker 7mm-08 (Shilen barrel). It's giving me fits by shooting patterns. I think it may be the barrel or chamber but want to try other options before I send it off to get rechambered to a .284 Winny.

Just a thought Dan and I'm sure you have thought of this. Is the scope or mount slightly loose?? Gun loose in the stock?? Scope trying to die??

Dan, Are you using the one piece factory mount? I know of one Striker that had a bad mount from the factory. The groove in the bottom of the mount was machined off center and would warp the base when it was tightened.
I shoot 120 gr SSP bullets with IMR 4895 in my 7-08 Striker. Groups are usually 3/4" when I do my part.

Dan, Aren't those XP's great? Yesterday I shot two 3-shot groups @ 600 yards (prone) about 15 minutes apart and raised the elevation a 1/4 MOA before the second group. One was 3.5" and the other was 2.5" and together they were under 4.25", with 5 shots being under 3". Yes, it was "Puff" (7mm Dakota XP).

I swapped scope, tried a pile of different loads, cleaned it over and over, checked the bases and rings (two piece Leupold), checked the stock bolts, etc, etc.
I'm thinking it may be the bedding issue...or at least I'm hoping that is the problem so I can salvage the barrel. I like the cartridge and set up. It's a great set up for deer to 400yds or so and antelope to 500yds or more. It just needs to group some bullets under .75" for me to feel better about it's potential and not send it packing.
I may try some lighter pills but would rather stay with 140-ish grain bullets for the BC and better LR potential.
Thinking back to its original factory set up (a .223 Remington)...it never did shoot extremely well...under an inch but not as good as they are usually capable. Hopefully it's the bedding.
