September 27th to the 29th, Tracker and myself went to the Wilderness Lodge in Pennslvania, with us was my friend Mack, who wanted to hunt with a pistol, he did a AWESOME job, shooting a Contender in 44 Mag to kill 2 boars, his first handgun kills, he was committed from the start.Tracker killed his boar with his 480 SRH, 2 weeks before the hunt we cast the bullets from wheel weights down is the barn, the man is a true hunter and a pleasure to spend time with, not to mention a good shot and friend, with us were 2 of my friends that I met in Potter county Pennsylvania 20 years ago, it was a great group of guys, we had the time of our life, we killed 8 boars total, 7 were 300 lbs, my first one was 225, lots of feedback on him, made up on that Tuesday with a 300 lb boar, took a 700 lb Longhorn for the freezer, killed 3 animals with the FA 83, thanks for a great hunt mike, and Mac,cant wait until next year, thanks James for posting the pics.

Congrats to all! Forum hunts are a Blast!

We had a great trip. Made some new friends talked alot of hunting drank a few beers. Hunting was great. Killing first boar was awsome... tuff critters. Killed mine with 480 ruger super redhawk. 340 gr cb over 20 gr 2400. Lodge was awsome clean and the food was great. Guides were good guys . First rate trip. Mack kept me in stitches most of the time . Standing over Racks shoulder filming his bull hunt was interesting... 454 has enough bark to make my shooting muffs jump off my ears lol. Jim i had a great time looking forward to doing it again next fall. We need to cast up some of those 480 hollow points for next year.
James thanks for posting pics. And thanks for your thoughts , getting better one day at a time .

Just in case any body is interested ... those pigs are some of the finest eating vittles i have had in a long time. A cured and smoked the hams for 12 hrs.. First time i ever did that. They came out pretty tasty. Just had some ham and eggs for breakfast yummy. Did up 26 lbs of italian sausage . Ribs and shoulders in freeze for later day. Chops are well ....... what pork chops tasted like before pork became the other white meat, some of the best ever had. Now i know why the skinners at the lodge told us they would be ok with us leaving the meat behind if we didnt want it... lol

Damon, thats me Racksmasher, James posted the pics of the hunt for us, to answer your question, the shoulder rig is a Banditto holster made by Pistol Packing Leather, the gun is a Freedom Arms 83, 454 Casull, topped with a Ultra dot Match dot.

There are a few spots left for the next forum hunt on February 25th & 26th at Salt Creek Hunting Preserve in Southern Ohio. The plan is to be there by lunch on the 25th, hunt that afternoon, and hunt all day on Friday!! Don't miss it!!
