He walked up on me at 30 yards, the 300gr xtp did its job. I'm officially addicted to handgun hunting. What a rush! Don't see myself using a rifle any time soon... https://scontent-ord1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hph...b01&oe=56F73230

Thanks! Never got serious about my pistol marksmanship until this summer. What a difference some serious practice can make.

I bought this Toklat in March. Really wanted a Freedom Arms but money wouldn't allow it. Gets the job done regardless.
It sure felt pretty awkward climbing a tree without a rifle across my back.

Congratulations, great job.
I'm kinda envious of your Toklat, always regarded a 5" barrel as the ideal length for hunting.

Thanks.
Thats how I've always felt as well. In the single action I've only ever had a 4-5/8".
I had a Taurus Tracker 4" in 44 mag that I loved, but it literally fell apart after three boxes of Winchester white box. Told myself it was time to go big or go home and saved to get this Ruger. I rarely shoot Casull loads, mainly just hot colts.

Nothing like your first. I still remember mine 44 years ago. It's quite addicting. Haven't shot a rifle for 38 years. Keep it up!!!

Nothing wrong with that. Heck, I'll take just about whatever walks into range this season.

Thanks Guys! I'm not a trophy hunter at all, just trying to fill the freezer. Me too! But it's fun to do it with a handgun!! Nice job, and welcome to the addiction!!!

Grats.
Took my first deer with handgun last year. It is a great feeling of accomplishment.
Best of luck.

Thanks Guys! I'm not a trophy hunter at all, just trying to fill the freezer. If you're not a trophy hunter, you need to stop handgun hunting. All critters taken with a handgun are trophys in my book. Welcome to HH and the madness.

Thanks guys. My wife is grinding burger in the kitchen right now.
We had roast this evening and my 6yr old couldn't fathom that this animal was alive three days ago lol.

Good job. Nice trophy there. It's your first, so, yes it's a trophy. You'll grin every time you think about hat shot. I know I still do.
Oh yeah, we're going to either enable you, or spend your money for you, or both.
Welcome home brother.

Thanks guys. Next on the list is a new 5-shot Bisley in 454. I'd like to send it to Linebaugh and have it shortened to 4-5/8 and slicked up.

The meat is the trophy for me. There is no gun you can buy that will do the job better than the one you have. You will now move from need to want.
