After a month of reading and hemming and hawing, I took the plunge and ordered a mold for the 480 SBH, I went with Mountain Molds, as Dan's mold for my 454 is my go to bullet. I am looking forward to casting these, they should drop right at 390gr with wheel weights, and I requested a .478 diameter with a 75% meplat, as that has worked well for me in the 454. Right now I am getting decent accuracy from the LEE bullets I am casting but they drop closer to .475 than .476, and 300-MP seems to be the powder it likes the best.

Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

I don't know much about cast bullets, but I think that'll work just fine.

I am sizing to .476, but my sizing die leaves them a bit over and so they are a little difficult to chamber, about a half a rim worth.

AK..,
I assume that is the Lee bullet on the right. I just got some 300 MP. What load of 300 MP are you working with?

I am using 23.5 grains with the Lee and the Mountain Molds bullets. The new bullets shot good with 300-MP and HS6.

You design it, there is a pull down menu on the left side of the page, select 45 and you are off to the races.
