The OP has a .454 SBH. I too would like to know what he is using for loads. With a variety of factory loads, my .454 SBH has never exhibited sticky extraction.

They were wrong to attribute the sticky extraction to the material. 465 Carpenter is actually tougher than 416 and 17-4PH, both stainless steels commonly used in revolvers. The sticky extraction had more to do with roughly machined chambers than anything else. 465 is extremely tough to machine and it is hell on tooling.
