I?ve been considering a Ruger 480 Bisley revolver. I see that they now make it in a 6.5? and a 4 5/8? barrel length. I had a Bisley Hunter before and had trouble shooting decent groups with it. I?ve learned more from this forum and want to try a single action revolver again.
I?d like to hear from anyone that has these revolvers and any other advice.

I have one in each barrel length and think they are a great platform for the cartridge. Both of mine are accurate as well. I have no hesitation to recommend them.

Split the difference get the 6 1/2? one and have the barrel shortened to 5 1/2?. The best of both worlds.

I've had 4 of them from 5 1/2" to the 7 1/2" Super Redhawk & it's really a wash, try to handle & hopefully shoot each barrel length if you can. Lighter is handier, heavier is less recoil. But you can over come recoil by handloading so it's really which one you like the best, they're all great.

I like more barrel, but short is better for packing. With open sights more barrel is easier to shoot well.

Never noticed much of a handiness diff bw a 6.5? and a 4 5/8? barrel carrywise. The 6.5? will be easier to shoot and group with though.

Can't believe no one has said it yet, buy both, no need to choose.

I have the 6.5" and don't find it cumbersome to carry. Mine is a tack driver. The operator not so much, but the gun is capable of outstanding accuracy.

I have both and love them each. If I had to choose one over the other, it would be the 4.62 barrel.

Have owned three of the 480 Bisleys. Still have the two 6.5s. Great guns.
