After purchasing a 454 Casull a while back, I seem to have been bitten by the big-bore bug. The fellow I purchased the SRH from has a BFR in 45/70 with a ten inch barrel. I really need it like a hole in my head. But it looks and feels Sooooo good. I can probably get it for a decent price. Wanting to hunt with my revolvers what can I do with the BFR that I can't with my SRH. Or should I just get it anyway and enjoy shooting it. Any one experienced with the big-bore bug :). Or the BFR?
Ya only live once! In worst case, you can sell it if you don't like it. I think it sounds like a ton of fun and a great conversation piece and a good investment!
As a side note, what it the recommended loading for the BFR in 45/70? Factory level performance or can you push that with handloads?
