There is nothing to "time" on a Ruger SA. I've done 2 Ruger 45's, a 357, and a Ruger 22 and all were well within spec. There are lots of cylinders out there for sale so you can shop around for the correct length. If the OP wants to convert the handle, trigger and hammer on his gun by all means. I am just saying there are other options out there, and at a lesser cost.
