Anybody have any experience with cutting edge solids on deer or similar size game? namely their .44cal 240 grain solids, thanks.
Wrong bullet for the application. A solid like that is designed for maximum penetration on really large game. Deer benefit from expansion. You don't want a bullet that's just going to zip through, particularly on an animal as narrowly and lightly constructed as whitetail. The Barnes XPB is a great monolithic expanding bullet that does a truckload of internal damage. CEB also makes a Raptor for the .44 that weighs 200 grains.
