IF THE ALZHEIMER'S IS NOT TOO FAR ADVANCED,SOMEONE PLEASE EMAIL JAMES A BOLT ACTION INSTRUCTION MANUAL
"ADAPT OR DIE". I USE ALL CAPS, NOT BECAUSE I AM YELLING, BUT BECAUSE IT IS AN OLD HABIT FROM MY ARMY DAYS, PLUS IT IS EASIER TO TYPE AND READ.

James, well you have had a few days,,, Any thoughts as to what grain pills you want to push? The 140gr is an all around choice. Some like the 120gr for Deer, but I still like the 140 for them. You can really reach out with a 85gr Hornady for some coyotes. Hope to see a range report soon.

CT, With my 6.5JDJ a handload using 120gr Sierra Game King`s gave some great 100yd groups while the Model 7 rifle preferred 140gr Core-Locts.. I have some Nosler 130gr BT and 100gr BT along with a few other weight 260 ammo. Will see what`s best when the I pick up the XP..

If my 260 is used in the field it would most likely be on medium size animals. Perhaps a long shot on whitetail.. Don`t know what the future holds but if I connected on a 200+ yard shot, it would be a first for me... My longest shot to date is 135yds with my FA`s 41... As my friend Ken (500WE) said: "It will be another dimension for you"....

Zee Not sure if you know this,, But James may not know it either. When necking up or down for the 260 it is better to use 243 Brass and neck up. When using 308 and necking down,,, Sometimes a donut is created and it should be removed. The other thing is the necking down creates a thicker neck and this can cause a little more pressure or even cause the bullet seating to become a problem. Zee maybe you checked the brass and remedied all this. Not sure. In the meantime Lapua makes some really nice brass now. But I never bought any, since I had so much 243 to choose from.

You will be surprised what it can do. I worked up some computer drop data for my Encore 260 barrel. I dialed in the Come-Up's for 600 yards and put four out of five on a 10" plate the first time. I was hitting the top edge or I would have hit with all five shots. The four hits were in around a four inch group. I had a 20X Super Sniper rifle scope on it when I shot the steel at 600. I am using 243 Winchester brass at the moment. Just playing at the Range mine really likes 107 grain Sierra Match Kings.

Bob, You are way beyond my "pay grade" with your long range ability... Shooting over 100 yards is new to me..

I hear you boys and the next step is to wait out the emergency in good shape as all outdoor ranges are closed here....

JB, The paperwork is waiting to be signed and hopefully will have it in hand before the week is out. Once I get it I can go to the gun shop but I will only be able to get one of the three guns and then wait 31 days before the next one. I`am doing this for so long that you almost get use to it. I`ll pick up the 10mm because I have clips I want to check and there`s a nice holster on ebay that I may get... Being able to shoot a 22 behind the house would be a God send for me... I have a Remington 541 with a new scope that I`ed like to sight in... Now how far are you from NJ???

I'm on the downhill side of the OHIO river.Since you will be going DOWN HILL & SOUTH not much gas either. The waiting would suck as we can get and go here. Haven't been to the gun shop for 4 weeks, having withdrawl symptoms BAD! Have an outdoor range about 12-14 miles away for big bore to 100 yds and if I go mid week no one is there. Shot a bit today.
