my 460 had a brake but was still stout with 365 grn cast loads on the upper end. recoil is perceived differently by each shooter, but it is still there no matter who shoots it. revolvers transfer recoil different and i believe more harsh than the encore or other single shots. your mileage may vary based on gun and loads. some are more user friendly than others. if you want to turn your 7-08 into a pussycat put a good brake on it. porting can help you with your revolvers. I agree with Brenden about the super redhawk being the best revolver for heavy hitters in the 454.
