Does anyone have experience with bullets from any of these companies (Bear Tooth, Laser Cast or Leadhead)? I want to stock up before prices get too high. I like Cast Performance bullets but their prices have increased quite a bit since my last order.

I've just started playing with the Oregon Trail True Shots which are their hard cast line and they seem to be comparable to the Cast Performance bullets, the standard lead Oregon trail bullet is the Laser Cast which I've used in 38 and 32 caliber and I've had no problems with them.
I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them. John Wayne-The Shootist

I think you should also look at Montana Bullet Works. They use Veral Smith LBT moulds and do a very good job at casting there bullets.

I have shot a good many of the LaserCast 240 gr SWC in both a 4" S&W 29 and a T/C Contender 10". I killed one deer with the S&W and several with the T/C and they all went down in their tracks.
I load them fairly light with Unique and they still do the job but do not beat my hands up. I have had no leading problems.
I have never tried the other bullets you asked about.

Beartooth and Mount Baldy are good. Lead Heads are good for target practice but are brittle. I had a bad experience with Montana Bullet Works not standing behind a damaged shipment and would not use them again.

I use the Beartooth, 300 grn Cast Gas Check in my Ruger Blackhawk Hunter 45LC and they are the most accurate bullet I have shot from it. I use H110 on all of my loads. I shoot the Beartooth 405 grn Cast in my 45-70 Sharps and they have been my go to bullet for several years. I tried Penn and Oregon Trail and didn't have as good of luck. They shot but just couldn't find a sweet spot for the load. If you order some Beartooth and like them, you should get in another order soon. He makes his bullets in runs and may not make the one you like for a month or so. Good luck.

Kyode, the advantage I like is that I can usually get a fair velocity gain with lead with no pressure or powder increase.

It's been my experience that Beartooth and CPBC are harder than Leadheads and Oregon Trail True Shots and less prone to deformation.

Beartooths are the best combo of hardness and not being brittle. It also doesnt hurt theyre priced pretty good. Very accurate bullets as well.

Beartooth are great, but long wait times. I shoot them in 357 and .44.

I've wondered about that too. A lot of people show up, receive a friendly welcome, seem excited about the site and handgun hunting, contribute posts and then just disappear. I'm pretty sure this is the first site/forum I ever became a member of in 2003. There's still quite a few of us around from back then but a lot have come and gone during that time.
