Today I was putting money in my bank and decided to stop by the LGS to get some primers...And walked by the used gun case and seen something that caught my eye, So I had the owner get it out to thoroughly inspect it...I ended up talking them down from $1400 out the door to $1250 out the door...did I do good??? $1250 for a used Freedom Arms .454 7.5in bbl Field grade. Now I need to get the Black Micarta grips, a SSK mount, some rings and the 2x Leupold and Im set. LOL

Any gun you own and appreciate is a good buy. Wow what a nice gun. Looks to be in excellent condition.

Revolver, out with the old (girlfriend), in with the new (gun)! Congrats! Sounds like you're gonna dress her up nicely...
I went with the Freedom field grade as well - would have preferred the 7.5, but found a deal on a used 10". Shot it yesterday for the first time. It likes the Federal Fusion load - a bunch. Gun shoots better than I can. No regrets on finding on good deal...pictures to come.

I've been eyeing one up just like that at my local gun shop...They are asking $1100 plus tax to take it home...It has been there for at least 4 months...If it makes it much longer, I think I won't be able to stand it anymore...I might have to scrounge a little and go get her...Congrats on your purchase...

Yeah, originally I wanted and was planning on purchasing a new Premier Grade .454 w/7.5in bbl, but this used field grade was the right length in barrel and right caliber and at a decent price, so I figured Id try her out and if I like her Ill still get the premier and keep this one too, and if I dont really become too attached to her I could sell her for what I paid. I looked at this as a good opportunity to take because I paid quite a bit less than what I would of paid new.

Hey, to tell you a story of about a month or 2 back... A LGS had a NEW Premier Grade .454 w/ 6in bbl for 1650+taxes and fees. ANd I passed on it because I wanted nothing shorter than a 7.5in barrel, and man do I feel stupid now because that was practically robbery...So if the one at your LGS is cherry, and in the caliber or lengths your looking for that does sound like a real steal of a price.
