The situation is this: in 2004 the BAD administration Berlusconi (son of a bi**h!, and now he governs again, s**t!! ) has declared as illegal .500 S&W magnum cartridge and all firearms able to shot it. In 2006 the new Governament (administration Prodi) has estabilished that .500 can be fired in single shot handguns only (Tanfoglio Raptor and TC Encore).
.500 and .460 S&W firearms have no great market in Italy, especially considering that we can't hunt with handguns and that we must wait more of three months to have a Raptor (paying one about 2500 €) and six-seven months for a Thompson, and their use is only the long range shooting; and again, twenty .500 S&W rounds costs 50-55 €... not all italian gun lovers ar crazy like me!
