if it is only the 500 S&W that is outlawed you might look at the 500 Max which edges out the Smith or the 510 GNR which is a shortened Linebaugh, all 3 are .510 cal. The max and GNR are both custom jobs you can get through Gary Reeder, the max is his BMF revolver.( http://www.reedercustomguns.com ) The max requires a stretch frame and usually would require a donor 357 Maximum but Gary has his own frames built which are superior to the old ruger frames. If the ban is anything over .500 then Look at the 475 Maximum as it will be a flatter shooter than the 500s' and devastatingly powerfull and you get by the ban.
