Hey guys, had a great day. Scouted a new area in the National Forest near Brasstown Bald, which is the highest point in Georgia. Found A LOT of bear sign and had one come about 10 yards from us behind some very thick brush and a pine tree. He was about 250-300 lbs. Couldn't get a shot as the brush was so thick where he was and he spotted us and took off (but I know where he lives now). We also spooked one on the other side of a hill as we got to the top of the ridge. This was the first time I went hunting specifically for black bear. I learned a whole lot from the guy I went with, he is a really cool guy. Can't wait for gun season to open up so I can take my first black bear with my SRH. This is going to be a great year!
