Sounds ok to me. Try different loads. Somtimes the heavier are more accurate in the Rugers. I always had good luck w/Cast Performance 300 gr WFNGC's. Federal 300 gr Cast Cores are the same for factory ammo. As for that scope. My buddy's been using a T/C 2.5X on his 44 w/heavy loads since 1993. He's never had a problem.
