of course i'm gonna take my G2/ 14" 30-30Ackley Improved loaded with 130gr hornady ssp's. i wanted to use the 15" 7-08 encore again some this year also...............but ......i'm thinkin maybe i can get the 16.5" 300win mag ready by then.....at least with some factory ammo. i'd like to try it out, even though there's no doubt about it working well. got 4 tags i can fill, so maybe i can squeeze em in. season starts nov. 13th, for 16 days........and i'm off work for 15 of em!

That is a tuff one. I have three new pistols I need to hunt with. I think I will start with my XP100 in .260. Then use my XP100 in 7BR. Then take the .375JDJ Contender out for a couple of doe tags. Should be a good year with all of the deer I have been seeing. Good luck all. Mike

Well, I'll probably start off with my 309 JDJ, 500 S&W, 454 Casull and the 416 Taylor. That's in no particular order I may shoot the 300 Whisper some this year too.

Probably go out a number of times here in Michigan. I'll carry my Raging Bull .480 and at times carry my Desert Eagle MK1 .357. For hunting they both are a fun hunting time.

this is easy for me I will be taking my t/c contender with a 14 inch s.s. bullberry 209x50 barrel with Leupold 2x scope. The load i am using is 95 Gr of pyrodex P under a Barnes 250 gr. bullet/ sabot.
This is the only handgun I can use in my part of MD to hunt with

I'll be carring my 12 gauge slug gun (open sites) and my 15" Encore 7mm-08. I hunt from a elevated box stand so two guns will be fine. I see a lot of running deer so I feel the shotgun is a must. The 7mm-08 is for those 100+ yrd. shots.

Two 44 magnums, a Super Blackhawk Bisley hunter by Mag-na-port and a Super Redhawk by SSK both wear 2x Leupolds. As far as single shots, 6.5 JDJ and a 45-70 both old style Contenders w/ 14" barrels.

I got 3 tags this year and the wife can proxy her doe tags to me so I can take 5 in all. First deer will be with the 480 SRH, then the 44 SRH needs some blood. After that I might take the Redhawk in 44. Then maybe I'll break out the DW in 357 Max. I have not shot anything with that gun since the 480 showed up. It needs a little exercise.

Depending on the given day, I'll be carrying my Pachmayr Dominator 308 w/Burris 3-12, my Desert Eagle Mark I 10" or 14" 357mag & Desert Eagle Mark XIX 6" 44mag, my Glock 20 10mm w/6" KKM match barrel & Meptolite Target sights & DOuble Tap ammo, my Contender Bellm 357mag 11.5" SS barrel, and a Encore 13" 30Bellm Shilen VVCG-Bellm barrel w/3-12Burris. But not all at the same time There are others, but those will be the main pistols.

I've been through this a thousand times in my head. Opening day, I want to see if I can blood my 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser, 15" TC Custom Shop with a Burris 1.5x4. For the shorter work latter in the season when me and the bucks go into the thick stuff, I'll probably take my 12" .44 Mag wearing a Sightron 1x. I think, maybe I'll make KYODE jealous and take my 16.5" 300WM just for fun
6.5x55 Swede.....and that's all I nede. Hard-luck huntin' in Louisiana. Chris

Well KYODE, I think you already know the answer, but for sake of arguement I'll be totin a 15" Stainless-Steel 6mm T/CU Contender with a 3x12x Burris LER Handgun Scope, a Super 14 "Metaloy Plated" .30-30 AI Contender with a 2x7x Burris LER Handgun Scope, and my trusty Smith & Wesson Model 645 .45 ACP with a Red Ramp Front and a BoMar Fully Ajustable Rear Sights (with LEGAL +P Ammo of course.
If so some reason I need something different to change my luck I'll probably grab the Nickel Plated Smith & Wesson Model 19 .357 Magnum. Haven't had this one out of the house in ages, so it is really feeling neglected.

Starting out with 44 mag ruger SBH 7 1/2".After that I think the 357 max contender 10".I will have to sneak in some time for my 50 cal muzzleloader the first week of season.

Kinda limited by Illinois law so I'm sticking with a contender with a 10" .44mag and a 2x leupold on top. No complaints though. It works fine for me.

I think it will be a revolver year. Probably my old stand by custom SSK Ruger .44mag SBH Hunter w\2x Leuy or Mag-Na-Port custom Ruger SRH .454 Casull w/4x Leuy.
Good Luck to All!

I still need to see how effective the 7-30 Waters is on deer, so I'll be packin my Contender, but might just consider carrying the .44 mag Anaconda in a pack pack just in case I get a chance to use it with open sights.

From the ground: Contender with a 14" 35 Rem barrel and 2X Tasco.
From the tree stand: Contender with a 10" 44 Mag barrel and open sights.

I'm planning on using a Contender 10" barrel .30 Herrett at first. If I'm lucky enough to get a buck in the first day or two then I'll use a 7 1/2" ruger redhawk .44 to finish out one of my doe tags.
