I don't when I am walking in the woods, but then I also don't carry a braked gun in the woods. On a stand where there is time to slip in plugs or slip on muffs before the shot, or there is no need to hear my surroundings I use. On stand is also where I am likely to shoot my more high powered pistols which often have brakes and are quite loud so it is a necessity.
