For hunting I use the foam ear plugs. I also have a small set of ear muffs that I use to keep my ears warm that will cut enough of the blast as to not feel the pain. While target shooting I have a pair of Silencio electronic ear muffs that I use. Don't know why I havn't tried them hunting.
