My personal issues with revolver hunting (and again...this is ME) is the limitations for field rests. When resting against a tree w/ a SSP, I like the place the barrel forearm on my left hand braced against the tree and rest the grip against the inside of my left arm. Try that with a revolver and you will get some serious gas cuts across the fingers!!
