One brand of binocs you may want to check out is Eagle Optics. They fall in the $300 range. They don't really have a following in the hunting world but they're pretty highly regarded in the birding world. And those bird people, my mom is one of them, are serious about their glass. My mom carries Swarovsky and Eagle's. They do win out against Leupold's in some test online but I have never seen them in a hunting magazine lineup. Research them, I really don't know. Maybe someone here will chime in. Having a mom like this willing to part with her Swarovsky's every fall, I haven't had to buy any myself.
