This season will be the first time hunting with a handgun (wish me luck). I plan on hunting with my Ruger SRH .454 casull/.45 colt with a 9.5" barrel. Most deer around here are taken within 100 yards and with a few more boxes of ammo and practice I should be confident enough to take a clean kill. Any advice for a newbie?

Yeah, make sure you are intimate with your revolver/load combination. Next, make sure you have a great time!

What they said, & practice, practice, practice, especially in field positions. Welcome!

Practice, enjoy the experience, and if you bag a deer be ready to have a serious addiction.

I agree, I sold most of my rifles. I only kept the custom I built but it is retired.

HaHa, run away as fast as you can, cause after you drop your first big game with one it becomes an addiction. Good Luck!!!
