Is it a rimmed case? Or, is that the new 30 cal Marlin.
Yeah, there are lots of 30's.
In a pistol, the ole 30-30 or AI will do about as much as can get done in a .308 bore, short tube and all. If you go 16" plus, you will see an advantage with the bigger cases but they just get louder and kick more in a shortie.
