While I don't have a .44spl, I have shot quite few handloads with 240-250gr SWCs over "Skeeters load". Something like 7.0-7.5gr Unique.
Real nice shooting, accurate load. Somewhere in the 900fps range.

Another is 5.2gr Greendot. Feels about like a 1911 recoil.
Probably in the 800fps range. Shoots ragged holes at 25yds.
Have taken deer with this load.
