That is a great gun at a good price. I recently sold mine in 41 Mag for $525. Like I said, it is a great gun, I just had issues with the scope placement over the barrel. I just couldn't get used to it. Don't let that disuade you, but keep it in mind.
Rod, too.

Get it - great gun and a very fair price.

$640+ new around here for 44mag. does sound fair to me.
i held the bisley next to the standard handle. the bisley felt best to me. sadly i've yet to shoot the dang thang! i keep waiting for plenty of time for most enjoyment......

Pick it up. I love mine, and you don't get much for $500 these days .

I passed on a 45 LC for 450.00 at a local gunshop last year and I'm still kicking myself.

I bought a SBHH earlier this year in 44mag to hunt deer with this fall. I like the scope mounted over the barrel MUCH better than the handguns I've shot with a scope over the cyl. Absolute great gun, I gave 600 for mine new, and the guy cut me some slack on the listed price. Very accurate as well, I can get 2.5" groups at 75yd from a rest. That's saying a lot for the gun, given my shooting skill, or lack of skill I should say.

I am testing a Bisley Hunter in .44 Magnum, and aside from the terrible trigger (which was easily corrected), it is a pleasure to shoot, and deadly accurate. I have only taken one head of game with it, but it is a great revolver IMHO.

Lightened the trigger spring, stoned off some metal on the hammer to take off some creep, and added a 25-lb Wolf main spring and now it is smooth as silk (44man tweeked it for me).

I love mine and it's a shooter. $500 is a reasonable price...
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

I didn't realize that at the time and when I went back it was gone. the store owner is one of those guys that looks down his nose at single actions and I think it's safe to say he didn't know what he had either. I was looking for donor guns and wasn't even thinking about Hunter Models so I barely gave it a second look and when I found out they were rare I was furious with myself.

They are built far better than they should be at this price point. They are the best bargain around in my honest opinion. If I can only get one in 22LR too??

How were the triggers on yours? Mine was terrible -- easily remedied, but terrible out of the box.

My trigger was kinda rough out of the box. I shot a few hundred rounds thru it, and it got a little better, but still not good. I reshaped the trigger spring just a touch, and polished the hammer and trigger sear. Its absolutely perfect now. Ruger SA triggers are surprisingly easy to clean up. This was my first one, and I'm very pleased with it.

If your comfortable doing the work yourself the best thing to do is get a Wolff shooters pack for the Blackhawks with a 30oz trigger spring and most of the guys like the extra power hammer springs I'm just the opposite but that's me. The springs will make a big difference alone but if you want to finish the job you can hone or polish the sear engagement points. If your not comfortable with how and why everything does what it does don't mess with the sear engagement or it will just make things worse.

Trigger job is a must.
The scope thing I bought a cheap light weight scope. Longest shot I use mine for is 75 yds. Had a Luepy on it it was to nose heavy.
