52gr. of Varget for the 270 Hornaday. The I found the bullet under the skin on the far side of the moose I shot with this load. But he was only about 20 yards away.

The 260 Accubond is a harder bullet than the Horn. Not sure I would go over about 51.5 gr. of Varget in a rechamber. Personally, I would get a chrono and load them up to about 2050 fps and call it good. I have found that Varget is a great powder for that bullet weight range in terms of velocity and accuracy.

Use standard precautions - work up slowly, and monitor velocity. This is especially true with a rechamber.

Longest shot I have made with my .375 JDJ in the field is about 120 yards on a black bear. Have not had a need to shoot further. I have never had a misfire with my .375 JDJ in over 600 rounds. Join HHI, there is a guy that advertises in the Sixgunner for custom ammo I believe.
