Wisconsin's early doe only ... - 10/10/2011 2:23 PM
Wisconsin's early doe only, in the CWD area, hunt opens Thursday. Oct. 13-16th.
I was hoping to take the Ruger Bisley Blackhawk .45 longcolt, but I need more practice to feel totally confident with it. I'm only consistant to about 30 yards, so maybe if my stand set up is for close shots I can take it ... otherwise, more practice and use it next year.
I think I will be using my TC Contender in 7TCU. Plenty of confidence with that one!

Confidence and good shooting go hand in hand, knock 'em dead.I spent most of my life in Wis. and couldn't take the long miserable winters anymore. So, I moved down here to TN where the weather is great and the hunting season is liberal. We can take three does per day and 4 bucks per season. That's alot of venison. Yes, the deer are a little smaller but, it's common to get 200 lb. bucks on my property. Godspeed and good hunting...Greg

Good luck, and shoot straight! I'm going to miss the early one this year, but a few of us are doing a handgun only for the late season.

30 yards is not bad for a handgun shot

Take both, use the one where confidence matches the range.
They are lighter and handier to carry than a rifle.
