Keep in mind that a cap & ball revolver may or may not be legal in your state. The regulation in Oklahoma is not very clearly stated so I had a discussion with the head law enforcement guy at the wildlife department a couple years ago after they changed the wording. At first he said that a cap & ball could not be used, but when I pointed out that the regulation clearly stated that you could use one the year before ( which is why I had mine built ) and asked if the law had changed, he said the law had not changed and decided it was legal.

At first he said that the regulation had never said that, but I had him go check the last years regs and he found I was correct.

Sounds like my revolver would be legal, but not a stock Ruger Old Army, but actually the bore on mine is .488 so that it can use unpatched 50 cal round balls, so some nitpicker would say it is not 50 cal or larger. Also a 45 cal Remington 1858 cap & ball carbine should be legal.

Once again, if we could here in MN, I would give that a try. Nice goin' Hank. We can use a BP pistol, just not a revolver.
