I started shooting factory before I got to loading the Waters so I had some once-fired brass to work with. If you buy a couple of boxes of ammo those cases will last a good while. Quality Cartridge is the only aftermarket maker I know of for Waters brass and they are damn proud of their stuff. It is cheaper to buy Federal ammo and shoot them up for practice.

You can make Waters brass from 30-30 but you will need to go to school on fire forming, but it is not difficult.

Once in a while you see someone post brass for sale in the classifieds. It wouldn't hurt to post a WTB ad yourself.

I would like to shoot some factory stuff first but right now it's no where to be found. Everywhere I have checked it's out of stock and they do not know when they will have any. Want to do some serious practice and get comfortable with the gun before deer season opens.

I just run the 30-30 brass thru the 7-30 F/L die use a low end starting to Fire form, then load full power loads.

Thanks for the help archr610. Looked online and could not find it. I will definitely get with them for the ammo.

Just get some 30-30 brass and dies for the waters, one thing that helped was buying the T/C loadbooks from Midway, everything is T/C in these loadbooks. They have already been there and done that, they are worth their weight in gold.
