I am trying to decide between the following using at 50 to 75 yards with a scope....
Super Blackhawk Hunter Single Six
or
Bisley Hunter Single Six

I expect that the correct answer is "The one you like best." Otherwise, I would not expect consequential differences in performance.

OOPs, I missed the whitetail deer part. Neither is right for that application.

Single Six or .44 Magnum?? I am confused here. I will assume they are simply Super Blackhawks -- correct?

Single Six's are rimfires, except for the 32's.

I vote Bisley for the 44 Mag.

I think he's meaning a single action six shooter fellas...

But other than that I can't contribute anything to this one as I know nothing about them.

It will come down to which feels the best to you . The consensus seems to be that the Bisley handles recoil better for a lot of people. I have both grip frames and the Blackhawk tends to roll upward more than the Bisley with recoil. I run aftermarket grips on both to keep down finger bite but it may not be a problem for you. I like both so shoot both if you can then decide.Hogue grips on my Blackhawk and Eagle grips on the Bisley.

They are all more than capable, It"s up to you, personal preference, grip them all, each is different.A gun that will shoot, and feels good in the hand breeds confidence, and that is the name of the game.

From my experience for me I can just shoot some guns better than others, so I would say if possible shoot them first. Buy the one that you can shoot the best.

You said that a scope would be involved. A super blackhawk hunter in either bisley grip or a plow handle in a 7.5 inch barrel. I saw one yesterday in a gun shop in stainless. I can't remember the price, around 750? The bisleys are alittle more money

He asked that question in 2012. Probably bought one and has shot two or three by now.

Please don't laugh at me but... I am now looking at a 45 caliber semi auto for either 2 or 4 legged critters at 25 yards or less.
I would appreciate a suggestion for store bought ammo out of a Ruger SR45? Ya know, one that will stop either critter.

I had a P90 which I carried on duty as a deputy sheriff. It was bulky but functioned OK. I would try all the +P JHP loads you can get your hands on and determine accuracy and functional reliability. For deer at less than 50 yards you could probably be satisfied with 10 inch pie plate groups off hand and half that from a rest. Hornady XTP 200 grain, 1055 fps, is my first store bought ammo choice, followed by Speer Gold Dot 200 grain +P. I haven't tried the SR45 safe action trigger but the Glock trigger takes a little getting used to for someone used to a crisp single action trigger. Check out the Gun Blast review. http://www.gunblast.com/Ruger-SR45.htm

The one you can shoot the best and feels right. You will have go and test, try and compare the different models. A range where you can rest the Guns for use on the range is an option to explore.
