But now the next big question. What is everyone's thought on holsters.

The DW is a pretty large gun. I would probably go with a Pistol Packaging holster.

a large bandaler is cheap start and fit a lot dif pistols with or with out scope . get them for around 40 bucks.ther lite to.leather is a better fit but heaver and good bite more money.and most hunting stores will let you fit your gun and body with not much trouble.good luck...

Ditto. I use the Pistol Packaging Bandito Belt for my Contender and it works great. One of the best things is that you can swap holters out on the shoulder belt for different guns. They have many standard holsters, and one might be just right, but they will make you one special for about the same money.

For what it's worth I have a Wyoming Combination holster from Ringler custom leather. The past two weeks of deer hunting has seen me putting a lot of time in wearing it, and I really like it.

I usually wear it as a bandolier when sitting, and when still hunting have found that wearing it crossdraw allows for comfortable carry while wearing a backpack and binocular harness. It can also be worn strong-side, but I have not done so. I am impressed to say the least

For my scoped Super Redhawk, I use an UM bandoleer holster.

For my non-scoped Super Blackhawk, I use a Galco SAO belt holster.

I use FA crossdraws for my iron sighted Rugers and modified scoped holsters I picked up from Reeder years ago just after he quit using the FA's so I'm not sure who they are made by. I carry the scoped guns on a cartridge belt.

I use an Uncle Mikes (or similar) bandoleer holster for my scoped SRH. Very adjustable for clothing. Seems to work pretty well but they flop around unless you have them properly secured. I usually take my holster off when I get to the stand.

Currently looking at holster options for my BFR. But the Uncle Mikes is a good cheap start to allow you to look for something better if you want "better".

I have a RBHM with a 2.5x 8 scope. I have the Uncle Mikes bandoleer http://www.midwayusa.com/Product/210887/...el-nylon-black.
It holds the gun ok but it is very loud and I am really concerned about it wearing the finish off my scope. People have told me not to worry but it just feels so rough going in and out. I can see the noise being a problem with a deer close by. Also I am 6’1” and I find the strap to be just a bit short.
It would also be nice if it had another strap to tie it down somewhat and like others have said for small amount of money you will have something while you look for something better. Now if I could just find some other options.

Have Rob Leahy make up a holster with his Chesty Puller rig. When I hunt with a handgun I usually use a TC Contender with a sling to carry it but I always have a large bore revolver and I am converted to good leather such as the Simply Rugged pancake.

You can get a holster to fit the DW with a scope and a Chesty Puller rig to wear across your chest.

For a scoped handgun, something like the Uncle Mikes bandoleer holster, something that you can wear under a jacket to give the gun/scope some protection from the elements, and that you can access from a sitting position.

I made holsters for a lot of years, and made a holster for my scoped 10" Contender, it was modeled after the old WW11 shoulder holster. A design that I always thought was pretty useful..
