Weather's cooling off - going squirrel hunting

Weather's cooling off - going squirrel hunting - 10/02/2015 2:17 AM

I've begun seeing a lot of squirrels on my morning commute, so I decided this weekend I'll try my hand at squirrel hunting again. My grandfather once again allowed me to borrow his Ruger, so after a few rounds to ensure the crosshairs haven't moved, I'm going to spend my mornings and evenings in the woods this weekend. I'll have my GoPro running in case I get something. Wish me luck!

Our season opened today. I'm gonna try to get after some this weekend, as well. Good luck!

Good luck to you, as well. Our season has been open since the end of August, but it's been way too warm and humid.

Got the Ruger sighted in to 25 yards. The black marks indicate the last five shot group I made. On a related note, I noticed all the oaks are dropping acorns, so I definitely know where to hunt this weekend.

Its hard to beat a rimfire handgun for squirrel hunting. Good luck!

I saw four this afternoon, the first of which was a beautiful fox squirrel. It ran off before I could get in position, though.

Wolf -

I have that same gun/scope combo but not the holster. Would you mind providing info on holster, i.e., brand, model. Thanks.

It's an Uncle Mike's Sidekick holster. I don't know the exact model.
