45 Colt coyote - 11/03/2020 2:31 AM
I was walking in to put a game camera next to a ladder stand I had recently put up and saw this coyote laying in some tall grass. I carry my 4 5/8 inch Ruger Blackhawk in case I find a hog. I snuck in to about 35 yards when he sat up looking the opposite direction giving me enough time to settle the sights on him. Never knew what happened. One less fawn eater.

WONDERFUL, FANTASTIC, GREAT, COMMENDABLE, .........
You're on a roll this year! Can't imagine getting a coyote with an open sight handgun, let alone sneaking up on him to do it!

Right on, getting that close to a coyote can be very challenging. Congrats Okie

Good job ! I can remember only two coyotes killed with a handgun, not counting those in traps, and they were about two hours apart while I was mowing. Killed them both with an S&W Kit Gun. It?s amazing how little attention they pay to a farm tractor. Both ran off, but not far with a hollow point through the lungs. I expect that .45 Colt did a number though !
Edit: My memory ain?t too good, because the first one I ever killed was with a .22 Rem-Jet, called in and missed the first running shot, broke his back when he went under a fence. Luck beats skill every time !

Excellent. We have far too many of those things here in the Bay State.
