iowa hunters handgun hunting - 12/02/2020 2:54 PM

if there are any iowa hunters here this is your alert. the Governor signed a revision to the allowable calibers in the handguns and the allowable rifle calibers. some have been left out due to lack of 500fpe at the muzzle- the 45 colt didnt make it. what a bunch of crap!
they also are trying to eliminate calibers in rifles based on too much energy such as the 45-70 and 444 marlin which generate less that what a modern shotgun slug has.
they have a public comment session until dec 14. on House file 716.
if this post is in the wrong place would the moderators please move it accordingly.

yep, the system wasn't broken and no complaints were logged. just the bureaucratic system went in to change the age for a person to handgun hunt with legal adult supervision and they decided to get into the caliber debate and take out the wording straight wall cartridges and approved straight taper cartridges and give a cartridge list- people that have no background in these things should not make the regulations without advisement.
