new scope - 05/22/2021 12:05 AM

I was happy enough, to see a new handgun scope introduced by a well known company, that I ordered one. Crimson Trace has started selling their Brush Line Pro series of scopes that include a 2.5-8X LER for handguns. I`ve just mounted mine on my Dan Wesson 10" 44 mag and have to get to the range to see how she will perform. Some shooters may and some may not care for the bullet drop compensator on the lower vertical crosshair which I personally will not use. However, that Crimson Trace is selling a new pistol scope tells me that new handgun hunters may be on the increase... Lets hope so cause its a great sport....

Get to the range ALREADY James 😉 And put it through it's paces. Let us know how she performs.

I didn't know this.
I wonder where the OEM is at?
Retail price?

This is good news. I currently in the market for a scope right now.

I see on the Crimson Trace website, it's going for $329 retail.

I emailed them and asked several questions?
What are the subtensions of your ballistic CT Custom BDC Pro reticle when on 8x?
1/4 MOA or 1/4" click values?
How much internal adjust vertically and horizontally?
Does eye relief change with magnification change?

This is the main thing I dislike on my Burris.

I called Crimson Trace today and asked if the eye relief changes when the power range changes.

The customer service guy said it does change. For me, that's no better than the Burris 3-12 scope.

I noticed them on Midway a few weeks ago. They're definitely trying to emulate the Nikon Force XR - Crimson Trace is even developing a ballistic software similar to Nikon's SpotOn.

I just ordered one of these this weekend. Found it on Midway. I'm going to try it on my new Encore .308 barrel first to see how the BDC reticle works. Then I'm going to put it on my Ruger Blackhawk Hunter in 44 Mag and try it. I don't think I will ever need that much power in a scope on this pistol but I want to see how clear it is at 2x up to 4x. I might turn it up to 8x if I don't have my binoculars with me or trying to pick out a doe in a group of deer and not a buck with knobs on his head.
Should have it by the end of the week. Midway did ship free so that saved a little.
I will give a report back when I get a few rounds through the .308.

Thanks Mike, a report will be nice. I'm always interested in handgun scopes.

I would trust in your evaluation . J.f.J.
