i bought some from wallys world once (not sure if it was the same brand or not). i used it on a .410 and a 16 ga. about 10 years ago. it worked very well. this kit came with a cleaner and the bluing. i removed all the surface rust with steel wool. then you strip any oil off with the cleaner. i was told to warm the part up in the oven at the lowest setting. then blue it. they came out very well. i put 2 coats on the 410. its just a show piece now it was my grandfathers but the 16 ga i still hunt with. its got about 4 coats. it held up well.

I have a bottle of Vans right here on my desk thats just about empty. It really does work. I refinished an old Springfield 16gauge side-by-side that my Uncle left to me when he passed and it looks great. Just be sure to use a good cleaner-degreaser. I used a combination of 000 steel wool and 0000 soaked with the Vans instant blue and worked it in lightly and that old shotgun looks great. Ive also tried the 44/40 and I think the Vans works much better and is easier.
