300 wsm ,will it work in encore.

I have had the same question before and called TC before. The TC technicians said that the WSM created too much pressure and that it would not be available in the Encore. There was at least one custom shop that use to chamber in WSM and another that use to camber in Weatherby’s. So that is the best I can tell you. If you want a nice 30 call, I would recommend one of the 30-06 based improvements from some like JDJ or Reeder. The 30-06 Akl improved would shoot up with a 300 win in a rifle. Out of a pistol JDJ and Reeder both, and others, have some wildcats that will more than hold there own.

Not in any 30-06AI that I've seen...and I own one. My .30 Gibbs with more case capacity than the AI won't even match the .300 Winny Mag....close but no match. The WSM and WM are virtually ballistic matches but the WSM operates at much higher pressure.

If you want a Magnum in the Encore platform...go .300 Win Mag. KYODE has one and can give you some velocity data.

I think I stand corrected. I guess this is a case were book information isn’t practical. All the reloading information I have for the 30-06 states it is only 100 fps slower than the 300WM. And that the 30-06 AKL would shoot up with it. I have an article on the .30 Gibbs also that helped me come to this conclusion.

The Cooper Express is 30-06 based.
